Salesforce.com is “The World’s Most Innovative Company” (Forbes Magazine, August 2011). This is an exciting, rewarding place to do the best work of your life. We’re growing fast. We hire talented, energetic professionals. Join us.

About the Work

The care and feeding of Billions of transactions per day and massive data sets created from live, constantly changing production systems is a tough problem in and of itself. Add the need to complete the transaction and deliver the data set with complete integrity, in a timely manner, without impacting the production system's performance or availability and you've got a real challenge.

Do you like to solve tough problems, create resilient production quality code, and build systems that truly scale? Can your code run for days, respond gracefully to automated or manual intervention, survive rolling soft restarts and pick up where it left off? Ours needs to, and we need your help to deliver it.

About the Team

We work as a collaborative team with the shared goal of delivering the best software possible, anchored in a culture of quality, delivery, and innovation. We blur the lines between development and testing by embracing the responsibility of writing testable, high performance, maintainable code. Individuals on our self organizing team are motivated, trusted and continuously focused on technical excellence.

Desired Skills & Experience

As a senior member of the API team you’ll use your passion for software to consistently make an impact. Your colleagues look to you for guidance, and you love to share what you know to make the entire team better. You don’t accept the status quo. You challenge assumptions, and strive to improve everything you’re involved with. You exhibit the courage to respectfully disagree, and are prepared to back your position with evidence.

We expect you to have two or more years of full-time experience in a software engineering role and strong testing and quality skills. Solid programming skills in an object-oriented language like Java is a requirement but our recruiting efforts are language neutral. If you’re a software engineer and you're smart then we expect you to be able to learn new languages and technologies. Just tell us why we should consider you.

You can decide if you want to write your code on a Mac, a Windows PC, or a Linux box. We'll set you up with a fast workstation, lots of RAM, a couple of 24” monitors and your choice of a Windows Laptop or MacBook and set you lose to work your magic.

If this sounds like you, you should join us at Salesforce.com. We're looking for your ideas, energy, and innovation. Would you like to apply to this job?
