Director of Product Marketing

We’re expanding our Product Marketing team and looking for a world-class Director of Product Marketing to join a mid stage, venture-backed company that’s growing like crazy. Ideally, you love crafting compelling stories, collateral, and tools around technology products and services. You’re comfortable addressing both business and technical buyers. You have great writing, research, and storytelling skills, along with technology fluency, because all will be required to flourish in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define positioning, messaging, segmentation and value proposition across various audiences to continue to lead and further establish Mashery’s unique position in the API management space
  • Manage a small team and oversee production of key messages and collateral including, but not limited to, presentations, product sheets, demos, training tools, website content, white papers, videos and case studies, in conjunction to marketing communications that support sales
  • Develop MRD’s while leading Go-to-Market planning and execution for launches and rollouts of new products and services
  • Conduct competitive analysis and define key use cases for new feature releases
  • Lead, train and arm sales and marketing teams with competitive and market data and key positioning points
  • Interface with key analyst firms, key ecosystem partners and influencers on product presentation, positioning and running of strategy sessions
  • Provide market research, data and segmentation by identifying sales cycle influencers, market characteristics and key verticals
  • Support demand/lead generation and marketing programs by creating buyer profiles, identifying pain points and producing content and messaging for target audiences
  • Support the marketing team in contributing to press releases and other website content as needed

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years experience marketing technology preferably in SaaS, eCommerce, infrastructure, cloud computing, digital media and/or internet fields with at least 3 years experience in a field-facing role
  • Experience in product marketing in a B2B environment with an established track record of bringing online products to market
  • You show up (not just physically) and you come to win
  • Willing, able and excited about working in a very fast paced, sometimes chaotic (organized chaos), always rewarding environment with the potential to have tremendous impact
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of success interacting with cross-functional teams
  • You think strategically but can execute at a tactical level too
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills absolutely required
  • Effective time, team and prioritization management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (including Powerpoint), Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign (or demonstrated ability to learn these tools quickly)
  • Some graphic design ability is highly desirable; otherwise strong ability to work with designers to build clear, effective collateral would suffice
  • Some ability to travel
  • Bachelors degree required; MBA a plus
