Primary Responsibilities

As an Intuit Partner Platform (IPP) Sr. Developer Writer you are a main contributor for our public facing technical documentation for developers as well as screencasts, videos, and technical articles. Use your communication, writing and presentation skills to identify, write, and maintain high quality developer resources that enable and ease developer adoption, applying a strong focus on technical writing and documentation (sample code, SDKs, API code & instructions, and overall technical content). In addition, you will also be representing IPP at developer conferences and community events – plenty of opportunities to practice and grow your strong communication skills. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and a passion for getting involved in a wide-range of web technologies and hold their own with engineers.

  • Identify, create, and maintain high quality developer resources that enable and ease developer adoption
  • Ensure that IPP's developer-facing services (documentation for APIs, SDKs, widgets, etc.) are meeting developer's needs
  • Attend and present at developer conferences and other events. Actively blog and write developer articles, tutorials, and sample code
  • Participate in architectural and design discussions with strategic internal and external partners to speed adoption and ensure best practices during implementation
  • Use the community interactions with developers to influence IPP’s API and product strategy by working cross-functionally with product management, engineering, architects, developers, marketing, and our partner’s technology executives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Understanding or writing experience with web services & API's (SOAP, REST, JSON)
  • Understanding or writing experience with one or more of the following: Java/J2EE, .NET, web frameworks, scripting, front-end code/frameworks
  • Strong teamwork skills. Must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently work in a cross-functional environment including Product Managers, Architects, QA engineers, and Developer Support Engineers
  • "Self-starter" and autonomous driver
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Nice to have: A strong presence and/or participation in open source communities and events
