Financial market participants are actively developing proprietary applications leveraging the Bloomberg API to understand the vast amounts of information created every day. Bloomberg's goal is to develop our API solution to meet the growing and changing needs of market participants for clients of the Bloomberg Professional Terminal. The successful applicant will join the API Business to lead the effort to design and build solutions that allow clients to quickly respond to transformations in the market and increasing specialization. The Desktop API is a mission critical application that is hit millions of times each day. You will have a leadership role in product design and the strategic direction of the Bloomberg Professional Terminal.
As the API Business Manager, you will be continually challenged to address business challenges and create solutions that help Bloomberg users access the data they need. The design and development process will require you to collaborate with business managers, engineers and clients throughout the planning and development lifecycle. We are looking for a detailed, business savvy, proactive person to identify and execute on opportunities.
Applicants should possess reasonable market experience and have existing contacts, broad knowledge of the space and the competitors, and a strategic vision for the product going forward. Candidates should be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and should have a decent understanding of other desktop-based programming languages.
